Help with Q Graphophone

Has anyone ever swapped the small gear on the feedscrew?
How do you do it?

My original feedscrew has a split gear. I got a replacement part but it doesn't work well and I think it is causing the machine to echo and lose steam before the end of the record. The replacement has a good gear and I would like to put it on my original feedscrew.
Does anyone sell just the little gear?
