cylinder records
I am a fairly new collector and I have been paying 4 dollars for Cylinder records Columbia brown wax and black wax,Edison standard records, edison wax amberols, blue amberols, edison gold mold records, Oxford and us indestructable records. Am I paying too much?

If you're picking and choosing what you want, $4 each on average is fine and may be on the low side, especially if they are in clean boxes, which are worth at least $1 each by themselves.
2 minute wax records are becoming harder to find in clean, mold-free condition. If you can find those for $4, you're doing well. On the other hand, Blue Amberols are usually a bit cheaper, particularly in lots.
Of course this assumes you're talking about run of the mill titles, not 5000 series fox trots or any of the other very popular records.
