Annual Phonograph/Record Show & Sale This Weekend
Posted: Sun Aug 04, 2013 9:57 pm
For those of you who are not members of the Antique Phonograph Society, I want to let you know that the U.S. West Coast's largest Antique Phonograph, Record and Music Box Show will be held on August 10 and 11, 2013 in Buena Park, California. This will be at the U.F.C.W. Auditorium, 8530 Stanton Avenue, across from Knott's Berry Farm and only 15 minutes from Disneyland.
If you've attended the Antique Phonograph Society's show over the past 29 years, you know that you'll see some of the rarest and finest phonographs and music boxes in existence. Collectors drive across the country and fly into LAX and Ontario airports from around the world to attend this show. There are friendly, knowledgeable dealers and collectors who are happy to help you find a particular item or help restore the machine you're working on at home.
Other items at the show for sale include thousands of cylinder and disc records, vintage radios, roller organs, advertising, and books about the hobby. We encourage dealers to bring along items of invention that fit the theme of the late 19th and early 20th century technology which include antique fans, telegraphy, incandescent lighting, motion pictures, telephones, etc.. One never knows what will turn up at this show.
For more information on the show & sale, go to www.antiquephono.org and click on the Show & Sale icon.
I can't make it this year - darn it - but I'm already planning for 2014!
Best to all,
George Paul
