Finished at last. I Triumphed!!!!!

Post by debndunk »

I've now finished my Triumph, here's the before and after pictures. I bought it from ebay, and in the ad the photo's showed it in one piece. Either they lied or the postal service played football with it. It's taken me a while to get round to doing this one but I think it was worth the wait and all the hard work. My wife managed to save the original banner, shes got more patience than me.

Hi guy's
Thanks for your kind remarks, I am happy with the way it's turned out.
I think you learn as you go, there's a few things I wish I'd done differently.

You did an outstanding job!! The decals came out real nice. I hate the way nice Phonographs get beat up in the mail.

Great job!!! You did forget one thing to put the other signature under the mandrel though. This is a pre 1903 machine, it has square corners, so 1901-1902. How did you save the banner, it looks great!

Thanks Pete,
I think it was just pushed together for the pictures on Ebay, and then fell to bits in transit.
I've had a few things sent to me that way. It's a scam that the seller does, they send you the item claiming it's in good condition then blame the postal service for the damage and claim on postal insurance. I was sent twelve 2 minute cylinders a few weeks ago and all twwlve was smashed when they arrived, so he asked me for some pic's of the cylinders and claimed on the insurance.

Hi Shawn'
Yeah, you spotted it, I totally forgot and only used what Wyatt's had sent me in there set.
As for the decal my wife spent days just picking out around it with a scalpel, theres no way I could have done that.
The hardest thing was the bedplate frame,it was in a bad way, I had to take it apart and glue lots of splinters back on.

Gordon,

Great job - you and your wife are an inspiration.
Thanks for sharing great photos and taking the time to restore a box of pieces.
