At least post the museum site in Norway the machine is located. http://www.grammofonmuseum.no
The museum lists it as "console"
Here are more pics of the machine.

Great!!. What a nice site you put together. As the owner of this machine.....what can you tell us??. Like, where you found it (Norway??),etc.... You list it as "1920's" on your site. Is that a guess on your part or ??.
Looks big and beautiful. I'm sure a member that knows their "Pathé" will chime in on this one.
It could also be a "custom" case. Much like Victor and others made for the customer who wanted that something special and money was no concern. However, this is just a guess on my part... ;).

I buy it from an antique shop in the western part of Norway. 1920's is only a guess. The machine is quite big, and it is 52 in wide, 23 in deep and 51,5 in high.

After some research I found out which model the Pathéphone is. The model is 16th Century Gothic Art Model Pathéphone No. 1000, and is a copy of an Old English Gothic furniture.
The model is made by Pathé Frères Phonograph Co, Brooklyn, N. Y.

Very nice machine and most have been very expensive when new. Wish I had more room to display phonographs but I'm afraid I would have little luck convincing the hubby to add on.

Your art cased model Pathé has got to be pretty rare--a real treasure. Pathé was only in business in the U.S. from 1914 to 1922. The article indicates $1,000 in 1918. That would be a bit over $15,000 in current dollars.

What a stunning Phonograph and a beautiful piece of furniture. Considering how expensive these were when new there can't be many of them left today!

What a great machine, you really have to have the right house for something like this. Is the door to the left for record storage?
