Just noticed there is a super nice Edison model A suitcase with a brass horn and stand coming up at Auction in southern Tennessee.Noticed it on Auction Zip under "The Auction Gallery, Loretto, TN" on Sept. 5th. Be a nice machine if someone is interested... John

That would be an Edison 'Home' Phonograph Model A as opposed to an Edison 'Standard' Model A Phonograph. Both were produced as "suitcase" designs, the 'Standard' in 2-clip and 4-clip versions; and the 'Home' includes variants such as the clockwork motor, and the skeletonized frame.ticticdok wrote:Just noticed there is a super nice Edison model A suitcase with a brass horn and stand coming up at Auction in southern Tennessee.Noticed it on Auction Zip under "The Auction Gallery, Loretto, TN" on Sept. 5th. Found out today that the suitcase at this auction sold for $1600. Maybe I need to put some of my phonographs in an auction here!

What I do not like about the phonograph, is the non correct signature, heck my 1265 never had a tae signature decal on it. Also this one has what looks like a model C, not very attractive, and would count me out on this auction.
