This doll was found in the late 1960's in a doll hospital in New York state. She does not have the head, nor does she have the mechanism. The arms and legs are the appropriate wooden and composition ones that are meant for the Edison Doll. She is totally unstrung. Some minor restoration was performed to her arms and legs, and some additional "tweaking" will need to be performed in order to get her together nicely...a minor task for someone who repairs dolls. The back plate of the tin torso was never cut out the common way that was performed at the factory to accomodate the on/off mech control and the crank. The holes in the plate appear original to me, yet I have no idea why they are present. I have seen a few of these dolls that have no cut-outs in the back plate, as well as some with random cut-outs such as this. I see no evidence that this was performed in some Mickey-mouse way in an attempt to accomodate some other sort of contraption. The inner torso does still have the 4 original "hooks" that are present to allow for accurate stringing of the doll.
Price is $900 plus $40 for shipping.
