Announcements on Early Columbia Disc Records

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Len Spencer's brother, Harry, announced most of the earlier Columbia Disc Records. True?

I know that announcements partake somewhat of a theatrical nature, but one that is distinct in my memory, since it's the first that I encountered on one of the early "A" discs at the tender age of seventeen, the title "The President's March" was announced as "Theee Prehhseedent's Mahhrch, played by Co-lawm-bia Bahnd."

Likewise, at the aforementioned age, I remember thinking, "who's that foreign guy on the record?" It's almost as though some random German-sounding fellow was dragged into the recording laboratory to announce the selection.
