Auction
I put 17 machines in an online auction in Culpeper, Va. The auction runs until 21 October. Noticed the bids so far are as follows----- lovely VV 4-3 is already up to $1. My B-80 which works great and has a cabinet (not original but nice) has sky rocketed to $12.50. The Edison S19 which is really nice is also at $12.50. And my sweet C150 a staggering $25. The Edison Home is at $250.

Can you post a link to the auction items?

Re: Auction
If the auction doesn’t end until October 21 there may be a lot of people watching from the sidelines. When I buy phonographs on eBay I watch the item until the last second, and then place my bid. Prices usually skyrocket in the last couple minutes, good luck!

Re: Auction
if you search the auction for "victrola" or "phonograph" you get nothing. You have to search for "victrolas" or "edison" for any of them to show up. I'd say the auction site search function sux! That might be part of the problem in driving traffic to the auction. Maybe they could add "victrola" and "phonograph" to the key words (description).
Good Luck

Re: Auction
I took a quick look at the auction and also found it difficult to find the phonos. What I did find appeared to be big machines which are very expensive to pack and ship. That fact limits you to local buyers unless there is a rarity that attracts long distance buyers. I've had good results selling large items on craigslist or a more traditional auction. I hope your results prove me wrong. Good luck. Jerry

Re: Auction
Thanks for the replies. I tried a number of auction houses and found no interest. Well aware this auction is not the best venue but what the hey..
I'm sure I gave these machines away, interestinly the same bidder bid on all the machines except the Edison cylinder player..

Re: Auction
I could only find 5 machines in the auction. Are there more listed?

Re: Auction
Nope - I guess the auction house is going to spread the machines over different auctions.
