Hello - I was wondering if someone could help me identify a part and where to possible find it. The part is for a "Brooke" Ohio Talkophone. It looks to be some sort of screw or latch for securing the top (motor board). I have included 2 picture, one with crank and one without. Thanks for any help.
PS I have no idea why the pictures are upside down!!

Re: Ohio Talkophone Cabinet part
Is it part of the release for the top board or possibly part of the speed control? What corresponding parts are opposite on the inside of the cabinet? Jerry

Re: Ohio Talkophone Cabinet part
The part you are missing is the lid latch. These are frequently missing. It is spring loaded, and you pull on the knob to release the hinged lid. I don't have a way to take pictures of it. You can try George Vollema(I think that's the correct spelling) You can PM me, and I'll give you his contact information. Jerry, the speed control on a Talkophone is a lever on the motor board. It is a start-stop lever and adjusts the speed. This Talkophone shown is not a Brooke. It is a generic one used by mail order houses. Columbia eventually used these cabinets for their machines after the lawsuits. I'm sorry I got off topic. I get wrapped up with Takophones and Columbia machines.

Yes, that's the same model as I have (coincidentally, still looking for a motor board latch as well)…

Thanks Phonofreak for the info, however I am not sure how one knows the machine is not a talkophone by two pictures of one side of the cabinet. The machine was sold to me by a very reputable dealer as a Ohio talkophone -so that is all I know about it.

I didn't say the machine was not a Talkophone. I said it was not a Talkophone Brooke. This machine is a Talkophone, but a generic one that was sold by mail order houses. Sorry for the confusion.

Incidentally, I don't think the crank is correct…
