Hi guys, I purchased this lot of accessories on e-bay because I was mainly looking for a needle tin, but I like stuff like the paper that came with. In particular I really like the tag talking about the record speed adjustor. Would a tag like that have been on my 1919 VV XIV when it was new? I put it on anyway, I was just curious. I like that "showroom look!"

Better to post a pic than the Ebay link. Don't think the reproducer tag is a "Victor" item. The company almost always printed their name on things. The two "sample" tins are always fun. Unfortunately they both show rough handling. For the price you paid....the Tungstone needles are great. There seems to be regular needles mixed in with them. You will have to sort those out when you get them.

Are you sure the "For Perfect Reproduction" tag is not a Victor product? Because I own a few and I thought they were? If it helps also I found it on my Victor RE-45 and they other in a antique store and they said I could have it for a quarter
so it might be a RCA victor product.

Re: Accessory Lot Purchase
I was going to write that the tag is possibly from a later electric RCA Victor product. However, that era is a little out of my collecting field. The earlier reproducers from Victor came shipped in their own box. I personally have never seen "this" tag inside any of the Victor reproducer boxes. Maybe someone else has??. Now speaking of "tags". Here is a paper that came inside Tungstone tins. You don't find these too often anymore. It also shows how "anal" Victor and or Berliner were at applying their name to almost everything.....Tpapp54321 wrote:Are you sure the "For Perfect Reproduction" tag is not a Victor product? Re: Accessory Lot Purchase
I'm relatively certain that tag is indeed a Victor product. My 10-50 came with all of it's shipping tags, manual, record index, strobe, oil, grease etc. Everything. That tag was tied to the speed control knob with my machine when I bought it from the original owner many years back, so I have no reason to doubt this. There is another tag that was tied to the original power cord warning that the motor was designed for A/C operation only and it too is also not marked Victor. I've seen a few other tags like these over the years, but only on Victor changer type machines.

Thanks for the info Sean. So am I to assume the tag was for the electric pick up or was it also for the Orthophonic ??.OrthoSean wrote:I'm relatively certain that tag is indeed a Victor product. Re: Accessory Lot Purchase
Mine came on a 10-50, which does not have an electric pickup. The other machine I saw one of these on was another collector's 9-54, which was all electric. FWIW, the 9-54 was a 1928 machine and the 10-50 is from 1927. Notice that the original poster's tungstone needles are the black shank type, I believe these were specifically designed for the later changers and all electric machines. My 10-50 came with several tins of these type as well and I recall another member mentioning that these were meant for that, which may add a little further insight here.

Hi guys, sorry for the late response, and thanks for all the info once again. Here is a close up of the tag that I now have installed on my machine.
