Victrola L-Door Bearing Sleeve detent question

I have an L-Door XVI D machine. Does anyone know if the governor bearing sleeve nearest the motor spindle
should have a detent ring, or are both end sleeves smooth as mine are? If so, are both ends adjusted for smooth running?
I know the later motors have the ring. Thanks!
