I just restored it. The top and sides were split. Finish was shot and stained up. I was lucky it still had the original hardware. Not sure if it is an Edison or Columbia cabinet. Anyone know?
Thanks, Bob

Neither Edison nor Columbia manufactured record cabinets, but they sold the cabinets made by other companies.
Your cabinet is a Hawthorne & Sheble (pronounced "Sheb-lee"). You'll find these cabinets in some Columbia catalogs because the two firms had a close working relationship.
Nice cabinet!

This cabinet would look really good with an early Graphophone with nice cabinet decoration

Re: Anyone know the maker of this Cylinder Cabinet
Here is my cabinet with original finish and knobs. I put a early Home banner machine with a brass mandrel on it. The cabinet also is full of cylinders. Seventy five early black wax cylinders in mint condition all from the same year 1902. Was thinking of putting all brown wax cylinders in it, but I worry that something may happen to them.

I think the original knobs look much better. They should be easy to find, repo that is.

My mistake. I thought they were the same cabinet. I like the brass knobs also. You did a wonderful restore on it. Looks great.Bob wrote:As far as I know the brass ones are original.
