Getting my Edison Gem Model A repaired!
Hey yall! So I have no mechanical skill what-so-ever and I really want my Gem to be back in working order so I went over to a local Phonograph repair shop in Houston. I don't know if there are any other members from Houston but it is called Vintage Sounds and it is owned by a nice older couple. The lady was really nice and ran me the ins and outs about owning a Gem and an Edison Phonograph in general. Her shop is really neat and she has a whole bunch of goodies laying around. She has an original Edison Shaver that I am putting on lay away this week! ;P Anywho she thought it was neat that I am 24 and into all this neat old stuff. When I get my machine back I'll update yall how she cranks up and sounds! Anywho here is a picture of neat Columbia advertisement she had in her shop, the bottom had water damage so I just cut some of it and put it in a frame. P.S. sorry for the orientation of the photo.
