HARMONY Gramophones

Post by old country chemist »

Hello all! On a lighter note, I include a picture of one of my old cars, with a Harmony gramophone on the bonnet.I carry this machine, which I date to about 1920-probably American in origin, usually with the car, and a good pile of loud records, mainly early Jazz or similar. We visit a few of the rallies, but not many folk have even portable machines to play period music. I thought a horn machine would give even greater carrying volume in the open, which it seems to do, even using fibre needles. I will try before long, to show those interested, about how I use the bamboo needle block, for manufacturing the needles. I WISH YOU ALL A MOST PLEASANT TIME OVER THE FESTIVE SEASON, and hope that all your wishes for anything gramophonic comes true in 2014! Kind regards from Alastair Murray.
