at 120 rpm you can make high quality 3:30 cylinder recordings, at 90 rpm you can make very good voice recordings lasting over four minutes. the i.c.s. machine is actually ideal for playing original brown wax cylinders recorded at 120 or 144 rpm, and the repeater works quite well on the language cylinders which are recorded at 90 rpm yet still very loud and surprisingly quite clear. when i got this machine the mandrel bearing was seized and had been for many many years. replaced the mandrel bearing with a modern bronze bearing from apsco. dropped the machine in to a new case, cleaned and tuned it. a really beautiful old Edison phonograph, now in very good+ condition.
