WANTED: horn for a maroon gem

Post by obmcclintock »

I am looking for a horn for my maroon gem. I see one on Ebay but much of the paint is missing. It does not have to be in perfect condition but I would like one with a little more paint on it than that one.. Thank you!

for some reason 90% of the Maroon horns I've seen in 25 years of collecting are in rough shape due to paint flaking.. Seems like the suface was not prepared properly
and the paint didn't bond with the metal surface..

Should have been a factory recall on them... LOL

Gary, I don't know what we are doing as far as the horn is concerned but it probably would be a good idea to do as you say and keep it as you may encounter a machine down the road. I will probably just put my search on hold for now as I have other irons in the fire at the moment. Thanks for your input and information. Dave
