Edison Home Model A to B serialization

Post by fran604g »

Hey folks,

I recently aquired a late model A and I also have an early-ish Model B, with serial numbers H146806 and H218604 respectively.

Being that they are 71798 units apart and given that they were manufactured approximately 1 year apart; September 1905 and September 1906, (Thanks, George P.) does anyone actually know what the serial number was for the last A?

Thanks,

Fran

EDIT: I changed the text to better express my question.

Hi Fran.

I don't know what data others may have, but I've been recording data on Homes for the last 3 or 4 years. Of the ones I've seen, the switch happens between 147181 (model A) and 151541 (model B).

Best Regards,
Martin

Thank, you Martin. :)

A question for George P.;

I wonder how close the model changes would actually correlate to the change of the year?

Edison model changes usually occurred in the fall to maximize Christmas sales. The calendar year had little or nothing to do with model changes. :)
