Probably obvious, but I just got my first cylinder phonograph and have started collecting cylinders...

I found this interesting (I have never heard a "slide whistle" solo-at least, that is what it sounds like to me).

Ah, yes: the slide whistle (or "Swanee whistle", as it was called then) was often used in those '20s dance band records…

BTW, nice horn on that Standard!

Congrats on your first cylinder machine, and the Standard D was a great choice. I have one also and love it. Yours sounds very good.
