Can you help me identify this cabinet

Post by rgordon939 »

Need help identifying this cabinet. Any and all help will be appreciated. It looks like a Herzog but not sure.

I didn't spot it in the cabinet chapters in either of Timothy and George's accessory books, but it has a Herzog look to it to me as well.

Looks like it was intended as a sheet music cabinet rather than a record cabinet.

Some of those were piano roll cabinets as well. I did see a similar design and it was marked as a Hertzog but some of the interior shelves were missing if I recall right. Normally don't the phonograph versions have the needle holders on the inside of one of the doors? My sheet music cabinet has the mirror. It does seem like a phonograph cabinet would not because the mirror would be looking at the rear of the machine?

Was there a specific reason for the mirror on the top of the cabinet?
or was it there to check out your eye make-up when searching through your
sheet music?
