8-35 Tonearm and Back Bracket

Post by gemering »

I am wondering how hard it would be to find a tonearm and back bracket for an Orthophonic 8-35.
Are Credenza (8-30) parts inter-changeable?
Thank you,
Gene

IIRC, there are 2 different size back brackets. Give Ron Sitko a call. He carries replacements and can tell you which bracket goes with which machine.

What about the tonearm?
Is it the same tonearm that is used on the 8-30?
Thanks,
Gene

I just rough-measured mine and they are apparently the same length. I thought they would differ given the different cabinet depths
and that the arms are mounted on opposite sides of the turntable. My 8-30 is from 1927 if that helps. There were several models using the dark bronze tubes in the later 20's so you should be able to hook up with one.
