Victor ad 1924

Post by Lenoirstreetguy »

These ads are certainly not uncommon...Victor was fighting hard against radio at this point.... but this one is in colour and I scanned it just for fun.

Frank, don't do that to me on a Monday morning, or I'll have to come back with some of my own juvenalia. Who could forget the immortal "Spots Over China, " by Who Flung Glue? Or "Under the Stands,' by Seymour Butts (OK, "Butz" around here). And then there's "Yellow River," by I.P. Freely.

As for song titles, we can't leave out Glen Miller's "In the Nude."

See what you started? ;)

I can't take you kids anywhere. If you're not careful I'll exile you to "Pun Central" aka the 78-l message board . Then you'll be sorry .

I am very pleased that I did not have a mouth full of hot coffee when I started reading this thread...

The top picture of Madame Schumann-Heink resembles actress Helen Hayes to my eyes.
