Records About The Titanic 102nd Anniversary

Post by mikejk »

Tonight, and the early AM hours of tomorrow morning mark the 102nd anniversary of the Sinking of The Titanic. The vinyl LP was purchased through the mail from a magazine ad in 1973 when I was 12 years old, and I have managed to keep it in good condition all these years. We trot it out each year for the anniversary and play it. This recording is very interesting to listen to today as it was broadcast on Canadian radio pre-wreck discovery back in '73 showing how naive the idea of raising her was. There are some nice vintage tunes playing in the background for sound effects.
Does anyone else out there have a copy of this C.B.C. Broadcast Lp ?

Thank you for posting the nice display. That gave me inspiration to bulid that Titanic model I have and have with it my Edison Cylinders, Come Josephine In My Flying Machine, and Nearer My God To Thee. I know these cylinders aren't officially Titanic records, but I enjoyed them in the movie.

Great Harvey, I'm glad you enjoyed the post. The model in the post was in the closet for ten years, so my son and I built it to commemorate the 100th anniversary in 2012. Wouldn't mind having those cylinders. Thanks for the comments, Mike

Harvey,
I found mine on--what else-- Ebay. I had been courting this DD for years, but they always sold for high prices. Finally found one for "Buy It Now" at a reasonable price. Happy hunting ! Mike
