...or hospital white?

This 1924 article from Popular Mechanics is very New Age! :)

Lets get a closer look at the operators of that Pathé and their selections...

Going under, it's
"Japanese Sandman", "Fast Asleep In Poppy Land", "Dream Daddy", or "Sleepy Time Gal".

Coming out, it's
"Mercy Percy", "I Wish I Was In Peoria", "Shim-Me-Sha-Wobble", or "One More Time".

James, this is brilliant!

As for your Nietzschean philosophy, you already know that in the land of the deaf, the man who can only hear in one ear is--ignored! ;) But keep "humoring" us nonetheless.

I immediately thought of a piece by S.J. Perelman: "Swing Out, Sweet Opiate"...

Everything old is new again.
While searching for "Swing Out, Sweet Opiate", I saw this thread from 2012, with a 1916 use of music in the O.R.

Funny that the pipe in the wall makes a Victrola look like a Heaterola. :)

I thought it soon to start another thread just for fun, so I'll just add it here.

What if that new 1933 car is out of budget and your old one has no radio.
These guys know just how to handle that. :)

Personally, I prefer anesthesia to music... and I am not so sure that I would want the surgeons or nurses more concerned about winding, ending records and changing discs than focusing on the surgery... just sayin'.
