Interesting cabinet

Post by Scott »

Does anyone know if this cabinet has any significance in the phono world? I've never seen anything like it.

Thanks,
Scott

I think it might be a cabinet designed to hold / conceal a horn phonograph...

The geometry looks plausible - horn to the left, crank faces out for Edison cylinder, Victor & Columbia disc players...

That makes sense. A litle to much for me to go after, but it's a cool cabinet.

It's very close, but I don't have room for it. Not to mention the cost.

If I were you, I'd find the money and find the space. That's a very nice cabinet.

The price is great, any collector in that area needs to snatch that Herzog cabinet now!
They came as disc (like this) and cylinder cabinets (with a half door and drawers on the bottom.
What a great figural grille it has too. The ones I've seen had a floral motif.

Such great stuff is coming out of the woodwork lately!
James.

It should be noted that the asking price was $500. 8-)
