I have been playing with Photoshop for awhile. Would you use this as a eBay picture? Click on pic to see it right.

Re: PHOTOSHOP PICTURES
I love that machine and that picture! Maybe a Nice Edison cylinder player too.
I wish I owned that machine, but my finances have been bad this year can't afford more than a pack of needles. Hence, I have been trying to sell my spare parts, for what I have invested.
Maybe one day I will own a beautiful early Victor, maybe I should trade my other machines for one lol

Don't feel alone. I am in the same boat. I have a lot of stuff, but no $$$.Victrolacollector wrote:I love that machine and that picture! Maybe a Nice Edison cylinder player too.

Re: PHOTOSHOP PICTURES
It is a very striking picture and should do fine.

Re: PHOTOSHOP PICTURES
Thanks Clay. I am not going to sell it, just trying to see if the background would work with the real collectors. I have other machines that I will sell later. Here's another one I worked on today.FloridaClay wrote:It is a very striking picture and should do fine.

Re: PHOTOSHOP PICTURES
Looks great on a black background! The only thing that I would recommend is to trace around the edges of everything that touches the black background with a 'Blur' brush set on 'Darken' at about 50%-60%. that will knock the edge down a bit and soften the transition to the black so that it doesn't look so 'cut-out'.

Re: PHOTOSHOP PICTURES
Very striking pictures! Those would make excellent lead photos for an Ebay auction, but of course you would need plenty of detail pictures to go with them. I think those 2 photos would make excellent posters for a phonograph room. You may want to think about using one of the online photo printing services for that purpose.
You could try taking the pictures against a black background, such as a sheet, velvet or other suitable material. That way you could avoid the edge effects which, by the way, I hadn't noticed.

Re: PHOTOSHOP PICTURES
The black is very striking indeed, but it's a bit stark and does tend to make the Edison bedplate blend into the background. But it certainly grabs the eye.
I played with Photoshop a while back and decided I liked the effect of using gradiants. Here's one example.
