Here is a Philly band that I just discovered yesterday, who really seem to be doing it right. I found out they have a gig this coming Friday, and as it turns out, they want me to open for them, spinning 78s. The venue is an old vaudeville theater near where I live ... Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, and the Marx Brothers used to perform there regularly (looking forward to playing my couple of records from "The Cocoanuts"). Here's a link to the event, and link to another of the band's clips. Please come on out if you're in the area, it will be a fantastic night!

“The cup of tea on arrival at a country house is a thing which, as a rule, I particularly enjoy. I like the crackling logs, the shaded lights, the scent of buttered toast, the general atmosphere of leisured cosiness.”
