It's a bit pricey, but it does come with 50 - 78RPM records

By the way, not mine.

I wonder if this seller is related to the guy selling the $2995.00 Victrola 50 that has been listed for a few years now on ebay.

Sent a little message to the seller, informing him of the 'facts of life'…..
I'm not holding my breath as to a reply….

$8000.00? Why, that's ridiculous! I also have a Victrola IX that I will sell for only $4000.00 and it has been serviced. Free shipping, of course.

I see that the ad is now down. The reality message may have worked.

It's worth what someone will pay for it. If someone
has paid $8000 for it, then I conclude it
was worth it, if only to them!
Sometimes it is easy to assume that just because
we know what something is worth to
us collectors then we automatically know what it might be worth generally. I was surprised for example when an Expert Senior was judged to be worth $20,000 by an "interior decorator" when it was only worth half that to a collector!

Pricing by casual sellers on Craigslist and such is also often based on emotion, e.g., because this phonograph was something grandma cherished it must be worth a great deal.
