"The Little Old Ford Rambled Right Along"
I have to share a little story of odd but good luck. A few weeks ago I went on a 1300 mile trip with my 1930 Ford Model A. I took the ferry across Lake Michigan and up around the UP and back to central Wisconsin. Along the way, I stopped at a few antique stores. The two shops I found phonographs to buy, an Edison Standard at one and a Victor III at another, both had the cylinder record of "The Little Old Ford Rambled Right Along" Of course I had to buy them also. Well just this past week, I stopped at a shop in Northern Wisconsin and asked for old phonographs. The had a couple of them. One was an early VV-X tabletop and a suitcase phonograph. I usually don't look at the suitcase models but for some reason I opened it up and there were a couple of records in the lid compartment. One of them was "The Little Old Ford Rambled Right Along" on the Silvertone label. When they told me they only wanted $9 for the suitcase phonograph I had to snap it up. The VV-X was very reasonable also. At another shop I found an Edison Amberola 30 and a very early Victor VV-IV. I have only had one cylinder of the Ford song and now I have found two more and a copy on a Silvertone 78. I sure thought it was odd to find three copies of this record in such a short time while driving an old Ford.

They certainly went to the right collector. I vote that you bring your Model A to Union and I get the first ride. Jerry

You're on for the first ride. Maybe I will have to rig up a trailer for the Model A so I can bring more to sell at Union. The C-Cab Model A Panel Delivery project is a couple years away from being done. College is biting into the fun funds a bit.

You might want to replace the cool radiator cap before parking in the lot at Union. Jerry

Good finds!
I drive a '28 Model A most every day. I've got a Blue Amberol of "Little Old Ford" but I've mainly hunted for "Henry's Made a Lady Out of Lizzie" since it's Model A specific. I have that on Blue Amberol and 5 or 6 different disk labels (I haven't counted lately). Plus sheet music.

I too have several copies of that tune on disc and cylinder. The same is true for "Henry's Made a Lady out of Lizzie". I wish I had time to make a trip in a model A. I have a 29 Tudor sedan the same colors as yours Rene'. Rosebeige and Sealbrown. Mine has Vermellian red wheels though. I also have a 28 roadster pickup. There's never enough time like it was when I first aquired them. I'm envious.

Your '28 looks identical to one that I helped my friend restore, except for the color - his is green. Is that a Briggs body?TinfoilPhono wrote:I drive a '28 Model A most every day..

Very nice A, since my truck blew up my 1930 5 window Coupe has been my only ride other than the RV.
