FOUND: Edison Home or Standard Cylinder Phonograph
I am going to be in Orlando until next Friday, and I will be trying to find an Edison cylinder machine while I am down there. I honestly don't expect to have success because I only have about $100 to spend, but if anybody has a workable parts machine in the area, or just knows a few good antique shops to check, any help at all is appreciated. If I don't find one on this trip, I'll still be in the market back home in Michigan.

Check this out! I found it over on Etsy, and the seller has agreed to reserve it until I have all the money. https://www.etsy.com/listing/214413312/ ... 3537846384

That appears to be a Standard "C", and if includes everything in the pictures ( horn and reproducer ), that isn't a bad price.winsleydale wrote:Check this out! It looks like a Standard D gear cover. If so, it would be a very versatile 2&4 minute machine for you. Jerry

After reading the sellers description, it's obvious the pot metal bushing is frozen and the reproducer needs work. The decal is missing and the entire lid as well. I'd suggest a bit of patience and something good will come your way. Jerry

I would agree with JerryB. I think with a little patience something much better can be found for that price.

Agreed, It's a Standard D from the looks and serial number. Although the seller says an original horn, it is not, it's a reproduction.Jerry B. wrote:After reading the sellers description, it's obvious the pot metal bushing is frozen and the reproducer needs work. TMF is always a good place to come for info...
Larry, Valecnik, and Jerry all caught things that I missed...
I think the lid would be the hardest / most expensive part to find.
A frozen bushing on model C and later machines is not uncommon.

Terrific, I hope you have a great time with your new machine. Did you buy the D Standard or something else? Jerry
