Unusual Victrola?

Post by TonyJ »

Anyone know what model Victrola this might be? Almost looks like a homemade modification with the drawers?

You nailed it, but it's not really a modification - - the cabinet is entirely homemade.

I think George is correct. The construction looks very nice but the wood looks new. I suppose it could be an off brand cabinet refinished and repurposed for a Victrola mechanism but I doubt it. It would be nice the see the crank side to see if there's only one crank hole. Jerry

It's interesting... wood looks to be flat-sawn red-oak, rather than the quarter-sawn veneer that would have been used in cabinetry prior to WW II.
