Highly unlikely. "The Entertainer" was relatively obscure until Marvin Hamlisch made it the musical centerpiece of the movie, "The Sting".

OTOH, Joplin's "Maple Leaf Rag" was released on early discs, but I'm not sure about cylinder. It was not released on Edison 2M or Blue Amberol.

Very little Joplin material on records of that period. However, the "Maple Leaf Rag" was issued as a banjo solo on the 2-minute Indestructible cylinder. I was disappointed over the years to realize that most rags issued on records were either band selections or worse, rags were only alluded to in songs. I have exactly one ragtime piano cylinder, "The Black and White Rag", a 2-minute cylinder issued by the Everlasting company; those are scarce.

In fact, the ONLY Joplin rag arranged for band or orchestra & recorded during his lifetime was that Victor recording of Maple Leaf.

Originally released on single-sided Victor 4911, re-released on double-sided Victor 16792 paired with Eddie Morton doing "Wild Cherries Rag".

Here is the best...

The Dick Hyman version. It literally "blows away" the Marvin Hamlisch version and is closest to original. I have this album, and it's great! It is the FULL VERSION too. It's on RCA CD's... I highly recommend the album....Highly!

Listen!

Cut it off at 2:02 for a 2-minute cylinder. It could easily be put on Brown wax, but a Resin made copy such as Edisonia would be the best.

The RCA CD it came from:

Except for Ossman's version, of course (I have that on the "United" label)...
