Not a good reproduction... originals and good reproductions are made of red rubber and have a metal band around them.

The connector probably is very functional, but it does not look authentic. All the originals and replicas I have seen are red. What kind of paint could possibly stick to silicone?

I use oil paint, the effect is not enough for a long time but it looks nicely.
