Victor/Johnson Motor Oil Bottles

Post by Phono-Phan »

I have been trying to accessorize my phonographs with volume controls, oil bottles, and reproducer boxes. I have several of the Victor oil bottles in the wooden boxes. But, were there any of these oil bottles produced for the Johnson machines?

There are at least three variations of the one you show and an early one (see attached).

WOW!! I have never seen an oil bottle like yours. I was just wondering if there were ever oil bottles for the ERJ machines. I have never seen one of those either.

Ken, I just posted pics from EBay..... like your pic... ;). I have never seen a ERJ oil bottle. However, I'm sure they were offered. Then again, it probably had the VTM name on it anyway.

There are "fake or fantasy" wooden needle containers with a ERJ label. These, along with a Berliner version have fooled many collector.
