I purchased a copy of these DVD's yesterday on e-bay. It looks nice, it is a collection of scanned issues of Talking Machine World. I thought the price was reasonable.

What do you all think?

These are the same files available for free, but the price is cheap enough. However, I don't care for the quality of the PDF versions, so I've downloaded all available (and HUGE) versions as "jp2" images, then converted them to more easily openable jpegs. I'm also working on renaming every page so it reflects the Month/Year and correct original page number. It's boring work, bordering on OCD .

First, go to : https://archive.org/search.php?query=ta ... ne%20world

Then choose the volume you want - let's say Jul-Dec 1922 ... part of the page will look like TMW1, below.

In the "View The Book" box, click "HTTPS" to get a page that looks like TMW2, below.

The best quality scans are in the jp2.zip folder. The original, unrotated and uncropped scans are in the jp2.tar folder, but those don't seem to be any better quality than the zip.

Most of the currently available volumes are re-dos of the original project. I don't know if they heeded complaints about how cr*ppy was the first try, but these are incomparably better.

ps - When I finish getting the whole series to look just how I want, maybe I'll burn to discs & go on eebay, too !
