Help!

Post by winsleydale »

I just regreased the spring on the H-19. Everything went pretty well, I made sure the spring and barrel are facing the proper ways, but I cannot get the little peg on the shaft to engage the spring. What am I doing wrong?

I've spent hours of my life in this situation, fiddling with a spring until I can finally get it right. Sometimes you need to get two pairs of needle nose pliers and bend the end of the spring to get a more appropriate angle so it can grab the peg. Good luck!!

I have since solved my problem. What it was, was the depth was somehow all screwed up in that with the barrel cover in place, the shaft could not set in far enough for the peg to reach the level of the hole. What I eventually did was I flipped the whole thing upside down and smacked the spring out a bit, which then brought the two together.

Holy crap though, what an ordeal.
