What A Title

Post by gramophone78 »

I have seen some strange titles over the years. However, while going through a stack of Berliner's today, I spotted this 10" record. What a title.... :?.

I have a scrolley record titled simply "666". I didn't know that that was even close to acceptable back then.

You can hear a bit of it here...

Some of the clips may be off by one position.

Fits in with Jimmy Rogers.

James.

Don't be tempted by an Edison cylinder titled "Message from mars"... it's not great and has nothing to do with the title...

One of my favorite titles was a WWI Columbia 78, "Would You Rather Be a Colonel with and Eagle on your shoulder or a Private with a Chicken on your Knee". Not sure how they fit it on the label!

Dig around the old blues record titles sometime. Full of all kind o devils and varmits and sexual innuendo.
