SOLD: Columbia Mignon (NJ) Wayne Delivery

Post by brianu »

I've decided to sell my Columbia Mignon, a really nice example of this uncommon early model. It retains its original finish and includes the key and even the original albums. I'm figuring out a price, just need to find my records of how much I have into it. I'll attach more photos as soon as I can take them.

I can deliver this to the April Wayne NJ phonograph show or it can be picked up in southern NJ just outside Philadelphia. If interested, send me a message or email brianu73 at hotmail.

Is that a trim around the horn? I also have a Mignon and I see an outline around the horn. Can you show a picture of this trim so I can either buy or make one for my machine? Thanks in advance,
Harvey Kravitz

yes, that's the original gold-colored beaded trim around the horn opening. it will show better in the additional photos I post. I took these quickly last night so I could offer this machine before I had any more second thoughts about selling it. I'll post more probably by the weekend, including a close-up of that trim.

Here are some more photos. The reproducer is the correct early version, the same one that appears on the machine on Lynn Bylton's intertique site. It's presently being rebuilt by Steve Medved, but should be ready within the next week or so.

just a few more photos... again this includes the three original albums and the key... both locks, the one for the lid and the one for the record storage area, work properly. everything here is completely original. I'll probably post this on ebay in a few days, but I figured I'd offer it here first for $900.

From the photos this machine seems to be almost completely free of alligatoring of the finish. Is that correct?

hi,

yes, there's really nothing noteworthy at all that I can see in that sense... this machine has one of the nicest, if not the nicest, original mahogany finish I've ever seen on a columbia.

I just received the reproducer back from Steve Medved; it's all rebuilt. Photos are below.

I've also just listed this machine on ebay with the auction ending Sunday; I priced it there a bit higher, but for anyone who's interested here, the price is unchanged at $900.

Thanks.
