TRADE: VERY UNUSUAL OFF-BRAND

Post by briankeith »

Trade for ?? Another off brand machine ?? Something smaller ?? Works like a single spring under-powered motor should but has an unusual big & heavy crazy looking cast iron and oak case. Rather gothic looking machine

Yep Danish Modern (?) Lane table set :D Looking for small machines that fit well on bookcases, shelves, etc. Like the Baby and/or Stewart metal toy-like machines. This one I've had for some time now and attracts a lot of attention - the top and base are solid oak - the center is metal painted faux oak - the grille is heavy cast iron, the inside is a big metal round drum / horn. Big machine, small 10" turntable, underpowered but working single spring motor. I had the reproducer rebuilt a while back. Metal tonearm's nickel plating mostly gone. You separate the entire machine by taking out the four long corner studs. The reproducer says New England Talking Machine Co, Boston, no other markings inside or outside the case. I replaced the turntable felt which was totally missing when I got it. The wood (oak) has a very dark finish. The faux wood big metal drum is in excellent condition. Oak wood pillars hide the four long metal studs. It's heavy.
