I saw this today on CL:
"*Antique working record player w/ records* - $70 (Theresa, Wi)"
"Antique?" (And the crank [sticking out the back?] looks too thin and badly bent?)
It's all relative...

A lot of young adults have grown up since the mid-1980s having never played an LP, much less 78s. Heck, even Compact Disks are practically antique now that people download their tunes.
I still prefer something tangible when I fork out my money.

Well, it took some doing, but I finally tracked down this listing: http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/atq/5041885564.html
...because I was curious about the make and model of the turntable/amp/tuner. But the ad is no help. Anybody know exactly what we have here?

It uses the same turntable as my JCPenny radio/phono from the 70s or 80s. Probably a BSR turntable.

I think you're right. They were supplied with cassette decks or for a time: 8-track decks. I finally tossed one I had kicking around for a while, with an 8-track player last year, IIRC.Victrolaboy wrote:It uses the same turntable as my JCPenny radio/phono from the 70s or 80s. And here's ANOTHER "antique" electric record player, but this one's on EBay:

So . . . when did the class M come standard with a diamond B reproducer?
He is right about it being the perfect father's day present. Kids . . . kids?
