I am selling a 4-min Edison recorder. It is serial #404771. The price is $185 plus postage.
I have never tried this recorder. In the photos the one with a green body in the adaptor ring is, I believe to be, a four minute recorder. I compared, under a glass with 63 year old eyes, the stylus on the green bodies recorder with this recorder and they appeared to be the same size. Both have much small styli than the 2-min recorder on the right. The basic assembly of the two recorders appears to be the same. This recorder fits easily into a small Edison carriage.
If I am incorrect and the stylus is from a Dictaphone, I will gladly refund the purchase price.
This recorder appears to be in good original condition but I'm sure it needs to be serviced with new gaskets, etc.

Re: FOR SALE: 4-Min Edison Recorder - $185
For what it's worth, below are pictures of a completely original Edison 4 minute Recorder from my collection. Obviously, I've never rebuilt mine but thought it would be good to share the pics to assist those who have never seen these very rarely found 4 minute recorders and may be considering yours.
Although the picture below does not quite correctly depict the original top (throat) color accurately (it's close!), the color is in real life an extremely light shade of green - almost light gold in color.
The 4 minute recorder (top) throat color is a vastly different green than the 4 minute green 'H' reproducer top.
You have yours priced incredibly reasonable for such a rare recorder if it is indeed an original 4 minute recorder.

Jerry, your recorder looks just like the 4-minute model shown in Steve Medved's article in the June 2015 issue of The Antique Phonograph.
