I was contacted today by a gentleman who has been researching a young woman who sang and played banjo in the 1890s. Her name was Theresa Vaughn, and she died in 1903 at the age of only 36. There's a website with several features for those who would like to learn more about her:

The gentleman who contacted me found a newspaper clipping from the Feb. 19, 1894 edition of The World where it was reported that future recordings of Theresa Vaughn would "soon" be available on Edison Records. I fear this never came to pass, but I promised the man that I would put it to this forum.
Does anyone have anything to offer on Theresa Vaughn?
Best to all,
George P.
