FOR SALE: phonos I'm bringing to Wayne, NJ in the Fall

Post by MicaMonster »

These three machines are coming with me to Wayne, NJ for the Fall Show. Offering them here first before they are hounded off the back of my truck!

#1 Very interesting European gramophone. Large steel horn, bell diameter about 22", as typical, wearing its original green paint. Reproducer rebuilt, new neoprene reproducer mount. Reproducer has an adjustable counterweight that also raises and lowers reprducer. Very cool indeed. Nickel plated "Union" motor has a new mainspring, and has been completely gone through. Plays with good depth and clarity. Has Hungarian dealer tag! No idea of ultimate maker of this machine, as there are no identification marks or tags anywhere. $SOLD

#2 "American Talking Machine" by Charles W. Schonk's American Canning Co. Seems to be a variation of the previously known "Mag-Ni-Phone." All 4 sides of cabinet are lithographed steel (which looks just like mahogany!). Top and Bottom are wood. I have greased the mainspring, and swapped out governor weights as there was a bad spring. Original tone arm, but reproducer is not orginal to machine (original reproducer was lost to time or damage). Reproducer rebuilt, and plays exceptionally! $275

#3 No-name late 1920's suitcase portable. Motor oiled. Reproducer has an alloy diaphragm, has been rebuilt properly, and plays clearly. $125

Thanks for looking!
