This record was a lucky find at a local flea market last weekend, in it's original sleeve and with the competition entry form uncompleted. I shall not be entering the competition as the closing date was January 18th 1933!
The £1000 first prize was serious money when the average price of a house in the UK was £530. The remaining £470 would have furnished the house very comfortably and bought a good car. If the winner happened to be an audiophile the furnishings might even have included an EMG Mark Xb at £32.
