Hello,
I just got ahold of a couple Blue/Purple label classical releases from the 1910s, and putting those records on after Red Seal records is an amazing contrast. The recording level seems incredibly low; whether playing them on the Victrola VI or on the AudioTechnica hooked up to my computer, there's not a lot of volume. Was this common with the recordings on these labels?
Thank you!
RJM

Re: Victor Blue/Purple Label Records?
Nope. It's just the particular records you have.
If the volume seems faint - in this case since they are acoustic discs - the performers were probably farther away from the recording horn. Or perhaps you're playing them following louder electrically recorded Red Seal records.
