Blanche Ring on Victor Purple Seal Records, 1910

Post by Zwebie »

I was extremely fortunate this past weekend to pick up an extremely nice 1910 Circassian Walnut L-Door XVI.
One of the neatest things, is that the albums contained about half of the original records, as written in the original index! Many one sided Red Seal, Purple Seal, 10" & 12" Victors, mostly Operatics. All records in excellent condition!

Here are YouTube Videos of two Blanche Ring Purple Seal records:

What a sweet machine! I've become rather partial to Blanche Ring. I also like her "Italian Street Song". Thanks for sharing!

Blanche Ring is so cool. I most enjoy her rendition of "Rings on Me Fingers, Bells on Me Toes"....
"You must serve music, because music is so enormous and can envelop you into such a state of perpetual anxiety and torture--but it is our first and main duty"
-- Maria Callas, 1968 interview.

Bob,
Now that you have posted pics of your new machine....I just have to comment again. If there was ever a "Victrola" I would want to have in my collection....it is certainly this one. The grain of the wood reminds me of Butterfly wings.

Just super gorgeous....

Can you tell us how you discovered this work of art...??.

Blanche Ring was on black label, too. I have I've Got Rings On My Fingers (Bells On My Toes) on black label. That one and Come Josephine In My Flying Machine were good selling records for Victor.
