I can't tell which model this one is, but the price seems low for a Sonora.

Sonoras usually don't bring a lot.

Re: Sonora on Craigslist
The interest in Sonora machines is in the Bombe cabinet models. Their flat front models don't get much interest.

Re: $99 Sonora on Craigslist
This $99 orthophonic-ish Sonora looks interesting: https://boston.craigslist.org/nos/clt/5228057614.html

Here is another one on Craig's list I had not seen before. https://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/atq/5240733594.html

Re: Sonora on Craigslist
I have a teeny little Sonora console, small enough that I hauled it to the 2nd floor myself. Cost me $100, and needed only the rubber parts in the reproducer to be replaced. It is LOUD way beyond its size. They are fine machines for playing common records & impressing guests with their ear-blasting capabilities - but I think not worth much more than $100-$150, unless the cabinet is something super-special.

Re: Sonora on Craigslist
Here's my very 1st phonograph that I ever bought in the Bombay style cabinet. Sonora Elite with the wood tone arm. It also has the Pathé style reproducer. She's the reason I now have a dozen machines in my collections.

A nice machine. These Sonoras with bombe-style cabinets are the ones that seem to get the most attention. They really stand out from run-of-the-mill phonographs.DGPros wrote:Here's my very 1st phonograph that I ever bought in the Bombay style cabinet. Sonora Elite with the wood tone arm. I'm right there with you Gary. My Sonora Invincible stands in my living room and I never get tired of just looking at it. It plays great too since I rebuilt the reproducer. I wish I had the wood tone arm.
