I have a Victor Orthophonic Credenza with the slots for needle tins in the back of the needle cup block. When trying to put Tungs-tone stylus tins in these slots I meet with great resistance before the tin can be fully inserted. Have any of you with similar machines encountered this and if so, how did you handle the problem?
Thanks,
Bryant Stott

Re: Needle Tin Slots
I've had this very same problem in the past and have solved it by unscrewing the needle tin holders and gently bending the clips that hold the tin outwards just a little bit and then replace the whole thing.
I have to say though that I only ever put already damaged tins into these slots because they always seem to get damaged no matter how careful you are or how loose the clips are. I usually put a couple of empty tins in there just for display purposes.

Re: Needle Tin Slots
I have a similar trouble with the needle holder on my Orthophonic portable- only in this case you have to put a tungs tone tin or something similar into the clips to hold the steel needles in the cup. Fortunately I have a damaged tin for the purpose.
