We were checking out another Antique (Dusty Rose) store in town and spotted a couple of phonos. These have both been there for quite a while.
The first was for parts. I couldn't get a shot of the underside (too dark) but it had a single spring motor.
Thhe second machine is complete. The lid has typical alligatored finish. I spoke with the owner and she said she had a local watch guy "service" the motor for $250! That did not include the reproducor or spring!

Looks like the "complete" VV-IX is way overpriced and has the wrong reproducer.
