Over in the CL list there is a Standard B fair (?) shape listed. I'm curious what a good price would be for the machine given what is seen in the pictures? http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... 14&t=23540
Thanks,
Joe

Re: Standard B pricing?
Looks like a "signature" B, two-minute only, and that lid looks like it needs some serious help. The shiny finishing nails on the one end suggest a previous repair attempt.
Kind of a pig in a poke w/o evaluating the motor, condition of reproducer/ stylus, feed-screw, etc...
You can probably find a 2-minute Standard in running order, with an intact cabinet for $200-$300, at the high end it should only require a light dusting before going in your living room.
The horn might be worth an additional $100-$150, depending on condition ( dents, rust, paint loss).
If it's close enough to go have a look, that would be a good idea before bidding; otherwise, I'd be careful if the bidding heads north of $100...

Re: Standard B pricing?
Thanks. I don't need an overpriced basket case on my shelf so that was the info I was looking for...
